North Bridge House School 5 Sherradswood School 0
The U13 NBH team had an excellent win against a Sherradswood team that had been unbeaten this season. Our boys began well and scored the first goal courtesy of a Fergus Morgan shot, which just crept over the line as a Sherradswood defender tried to clear the ball. The earlier dominance that we had showed faded slightly as the first half wore on and Sherradswood began to look the most likely team to score. Our boys defended stoutly, however, and Duncan MacKinnon lead the back line superbly making some crucial interventions. The half-time score was 1-0 to NBH.
The second half was the best football the U13 team have played this season and the capabilites of the team showed. Harry Heptonstall became influential in the mid-field and started to dominate the game. Fergus Morgan and George McFadyen made life very difficult for the Sherradswood defenders with some intelligent passing and movement of the ball. Fergus Morgan scored his second early on with a fine strike from outside the area which their keeper had no chance with. NBH were now firmly in control and George McFadyen hit the third with a well taken finish. Fergus Morgan then picked up the ball outside the Sherradswood area and although a late tackle came in on him, he steadied himself and unleashed a superb strike which flew into the net for an excellent hat trick. The fifth goal was a good team effort with a one touch passing move leading to Paul Cotter smashing the ball home. Well done to the whole for the excellent performance!
