General StatementWe welcome pupils who will demonstrate a commitment to the learning process and will be able at the very least, to gain 5 good A* - C passes at GCSE. Prospective pupils are assessed on their potential and are expected to show a degree of commitment and a good attitude towards learning.EntryAt eleven years of age, there is a two form entry into North Bridge House Senior School . Applicants should have reached the age of eleven before 1 September in the year of entry. For pupils over the age of eleven, admission is through the usual manner although there are normally only a limited number of places in Years 8 upwards.Several assessment days are held throughout the Autumn and Spring Terms. The aim is to assess the skills of the candidate in English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, reading comprehension and vocabulary. Following assessment, a reference will be requested from the candidate’s present school. After careful consideration, we will make an admissions decision and notify families by mail. Any offer will be subject to a satisfactory report from the pupil’s present school. Pupils who are offered places will be invited to visit the school in the Summer Term. We will also hold an evening for new parents to discuss the transition from junior school to secondary school.
